CMOA Material Worlds Fashion Show
ACE Hotel Pittsburgh
Expanding upon a collection presented at Carnegie Mellon's Lunar Gala Fashion Show, these 2 looks were chosen as finalists for this Iris Van Herpen inspired fashion event hosted by the Carnegie Museum of Art. Cement and plaster were used to create complex wearable casted forms. Both outfits were produced in a week time-frame and walked the runway at the show on March 24th, 2017.
From the event page:
"Inspired by the CMOA exhibition Iris van Herpen: Transforming Fashion (February 4–May 1, 2017), local artists will showcase wearable works of art featuring innovative technology, unique processes, and unconventional materials.
Artists and designers were selected by a CMOA committee from an open call based on their abilities to visualize the ideals and aesthetics of design inspired by Iris van Herpen."
